Putin warns the U.S.: “Don’t strike Iran — You’re millimeters away from catastrophe”

In a rare and direct warning, Russian President Vladimir Putin, echoed by Foreign Ministry officials Sergei Ryabkov and Maria Zakharova, cautioned the United States and its allies: “Do not carry out military strikes against Iran,” stating the world is currently “millimeters away from catastrophe.”

Maria Zakharova, speaking at the St. Petersburg Economic Forum, emphasized that attacks on Iran’s civilian nuclear facilities, not just military targets, bring the world dangerously close to a nuclear mishap—“mere millimeters away” .

Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov warned that any American involvement would “radically destabilize the Middle East” .

This warning is particularly significant as the U.S. is reportedly considering support for Israeli strikes on Iranian nuclear sites . Russia’s message is unequivocal: any direct involvement by Washington risks triggering a nuclear crisis.
