Israel Accuses Iran of Ceasefire Violation Just Two Hours After Agreement Announced

Tensions are rising once again in the Middle East after the Israeli army accused Iran of violating the newly declared ceasefire—only two hours after it officially took effect. The ceasefire, announced by U.S. President Donald Trump as a “full and immediate” agreement between Iran and Israel, is already under threat.

According to the Associated Press, Israel’s military reported detecting rockets launched from Iranian territory on Tuesday. Air defense systems were activated to intercept the threat, and Israeli citizens in affected areas were instructed to seek shelter until further notice.

Details of the reported attack remain unclear, and Iran has not issued any official confirmation regarding missile launches.

Earlier, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Aragchi stated that Iran would halt attacks on the condition that Israel also refrained from any military action. Israel, however, now questions Tehran’s sincerity in upholding the ceasefire.

This alleged breach highlights the fragility of any ceasefire in such a volatile context. While President Trump’s mediation was seen as a major diplomatic step, developments on the ground suggest that deep mistrust remains. If Iran is confirmed as the source of the rockets, it would significantly damage its credibility in the eyes of the international community. Alternatively, if non-state actors were responsible, Iran’s internal control over military operations may come under scrutiny, complicating future negotiations.
