Obama Slams Israel: “No Military Rationale for Pummeling What Is Already Rubble”

Former U.S. President Barack Obama has sharply criticized Israel’s ongoing military operations in Gaza, calling the relentless bombardment of Palestinian civilians unjustifiable and dangerous for peace in the Middle East.

In an interview published by CNN, Obama said: “There’s no longer a military rationale for continuing to pummel what is already rubble.” He stressed that such actions only deepen the humanitarian catastrophe and fuel more hostility toward Israel worldwide.

Obama also underlined that the only sustainable long-term solution is the creation of a Palestinian state, urging a serious diplomatic effort that would guarantee both Israel’s security and the fundamental rights of Palestinians.

“If we truly want lasting peace, it cannot be achieved through endless bombings or collective punishment. It requires justice, dignity, and a viable state for the Palestinian people,” Obama emphasized.

His remarks have already sparked a heated global debate, with pro-Palestinian voices welcoming his stance, while critics in Israel and U.S. conservative circles accuse him of undermining Israel at a critical moment.
