Many of us dreamed of becoming superheroes when we were kids — but one young boy in Bolivia took that dream to a shocking new level.
An 8-year-old child reportedly allowed a black widow spider to bite him on the hand, believing it would give him Spider-Man’s superpowers. The bizarre incident occurred in 2023, leaving both doctors and parents stunned.
According to local reports, the boy found the spider near his home and deliberately provoked it to bite him, hoping to gain the same abilities as the comic book hero Peter Parker. Moments later, he began to experience severe pain, muscle spasms, and dizziness — all symptoms of the spider’s venom.
He was rushed to a nearby hospital, where doctors quickly administered anti-venom treatment to save his life. Fortunately, the young boy made a full recovery after several days of observation.
Medical professionals later issued a warning to families, reminding parents to educate children about dangerous animals and the differences between fiction and reality.
While the boy didn’t gain any superhero powers or web-slinging abilities, he certainly earned a story that will be remembered for years.
Next time, he’ll need to make sure the spider is radioactive first! 😅
