Former U.S. President Barack Obama launched a strong critique against Donald Trump on Saturday, calling his leadership style “chaotic” and warning of growing threats to American democracy.
Speaking at a rally in Norfolk, Virginia, Obama campaigned for Abigail Spanberger, the Democratic candidate for governor of Virginia, and Mickey Sherrill, who is running for governor in New Jersey.

Obama told supporters gathered at Old Dominion University in Virginia.
“It’s hard to even know where to start, because every single day this White House gives the American people a new dose of lawlessness, recklessness, and sheer nonsense,” he added, drawing applause from the crowd.

Obama Slams Trump’s Economic and Security Policies
The former president didn’t hold back when addressing Trump’s economic tariffs, national guard deployments, and handling of democracy.
He called Trump’s approach “chaotic” and accused him of putting personal and political interests above those of the American people.
“Is the economy working better for you?” Obama asked rhetorically.
“Because it sure looks like it’s been working better for Trump and his family,” he added, sparking laughter and cheers.
