Israel Strikes Iranian Police Headquarters in Tehran, Several Injured

Tehran, June 18, 2025 — The conflict between Israel and Iran has escalated to a new level following a direct Israeli airstrike in the heart of Iran’s capital. According to Iran’s state news agency IRNA, Israeli Air Force fighter jets targeted the National Law Enforcement Command Headquarters in Tehran — one of the country’s main internal security institutions.

IRNA reports that several people were injured in the attack, and multiple nearby buildings sustained damage. Iranian media described the strike as part of the “ongoing aggression by the usurping and brutal Zionist regime.”

In a statement issued earlier, Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz confirmed the operation, claiming that Israel had “destroyed the public security headquarters of the Iranian regime — the main oppressive arm of the Iranian dictator.”

Iranian state media had also reported that an Israeli strike occurred near a Red Crescent facility in Tehran. Notably, the targeted police headquarters is located on the same street as this humanitarian building, raising international concerns about potential collateral damage.

The National Law Enforcement Command is widely known for its role in suppressing protests and maintaining public order throughout the country. The location and symbolic nature of the target suggest a bold message from Israel about its reach and strategic intent.

As of now, Iranian authorities have not released an official casualty figure, but security forces have been heavily deployed in the affected area. The atmosphere in Tehran remains tense as the public and officials brace for a potential response.

This strike marks a significant escalation in Israeli-Iranian hostilities. Targeting a domestic security facility — rather than a traditional military installation — signals that Israel is now directly challenging the Iranian regime’s internal control mechanisms. Such a move may provoke retaliation from Iran, and raises the risk of a broader regional conflict.
