Ankara, June 19, 2025 – Turkey has significantly bolstered its military presence along the eastern border with Iran, amid escalating tensions between Tehran and Tel Aviv. The news was confirmed by Reuters, citing a source from the Turkish Ministry of National Defense who spoke on condition of anonymity.
While no irregular migration wave from Iran has been detected, Turkish authorities are taking proactive steps to safeguard national security and ensure regional stability.
“We are developing a layered and integrated air and missile defense system using domestically produced technologies,” the official said, emphasizing that Turkey’s combat readiness remains at a high level.
As part of these measures, Turkey has deployed Quick Reaction Alert (QRA) fighter jets, which have been patrolling the airspace along the Iranian border since Israel launched its attacks. The jets continuously monitor for any possible violations, including incursions by Israeli aircraft.
