Witnesses reported hearing screams from within as thick smoke engulfed the center. “It was horrifying. You could hear them yelling for help, but no one could reach them in time,” said a nearby resident who attempted to assist before firefighters arrived.

Guanajuato’s state government has expressed its condolences to the families of the victims and promised immediate support. Governor Diego Sinhue Rodríguez Vallejo stated, “This is a moment of deep pain for our community. We must ensure that those who seek recovery are not placed in greater danger.”
