The Chief of Iran’s Armed Forces, Major General Abdolrahim Mousavi, has warned that Iran will respond “proportionally” to the United States after its attacks on three Iranian nuclear sites, regardless of the scale of damage inflicted.
This was reported by Tasnim News Agency, which is affiliated with Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps.
In a video message, General Mousavi stated that “Trump’s actions stem from desperation and aim to save his proxy forces, namely Israel and Netanyahu himself.” According to him, when Trump saw signs of the Israeli Prime Minister’s “collapse,” he decided to provide “artificial breathing” by striking Iran.
Mousavi was appointed head of Iran’s Armed Forces after his predecessor, Mohammad Hossein Bagheri, was killed by Israel on June 13.

The statement from Iran’s Armed Forces Chief highlights the escalating tensions between Tehran and Washington following the US strikes on Iranian nuclear sites. By pledging a proportional response “regardless of damage,” Iran signals its readiness to endure significant consequences, raising the risk of a wider regional conflict. The recent appointment of General Mousavi, following the assassination of his predecessor, underscores the strategic importance Iran places on military leadership amid growing external threats. Furthermore, Mousavi’s framing of US actions as attempts to bolster Israel reflects Tehran’s narrative of resisting foreign interference. This atmosphere diminishes prospects for diplomatic resolution and keeps the Middle East on edge.
