An Air India plane carrying more than 200 passengers and crew crashed on Thursday near the airport in the western Indian city of Ahmedabad.
Officials from the airline and local police confirmed the crash but have not yet provided details on casualties or the condition of those on board.
The aircraft was en route to London’s Gatwick Airport in the United Kingdom when it went down in a civilian area close to Ahmedabad airport. Authorities have launched an investigation to determine the cause of the accident.

“At this moment, we are gathering information and will share further updates as they become available,” Air India said in a statement on social media platform X.
The incident is being closely monitored by Indian authorities, and emergency teams are actively responding at the crash site.
